This documentation is relevant to WMWifiRouter version 1.20 and newer, and has been last updated to reflect the changes in version 1.25.

Keep-Alive

Options   -   Configuration   -   Keep-Alive

This option takes you to the keep-alive configuration screen.

WMWifiRouter can periodically ping servers or retrieve webpages as a form if connection keep-alive. For some device / provider combinations this is necessary, or the connection will be terminated. Usually, a ping is enough, but some providers will drop the connection unless there is actual HTTP traffic.

You can enter multiple hostnames and URLs by seperating them with the pipe ( | ) character. Ping mode also accepts targets in URL format, so you do not need to change the targets if you change between Ping and HTTP GET mode.

Note that when specifying multiple targets, WMWifiRouter will go through the list one by one, until it has been able to perform the configured operation on one of the targets.

This configuration option may be changed while connected and routing, though in that case it may take up to a minute for these settings to take effect.
