Sometimes routing does not work even though WMWifiRouter seems to be running fine and your computer has successfully connected to it. Sometimes the problem lies with ICS, and if this is the case, is usually fixed by exiting WMWifiRouter and soft-resetting your device.
It is also possible the problem lies with your computer. To fix this can usually be done by switching the wifi card to static IP addressing and then back to DHCP. This will remove leftover settings from other access points that may interfere.
On Windows XP:
- Go to View Available Wireless Networks (right-click on your wifi icon in the taskbar)
- Click on Change advanced settings
- On the General tab of the screen that comes up, find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item in the listbox, select it, and click the Properties button.
- Select the Use the following IP address item, and fill in some numbers (like 1.2.3.4).
- Click the OK button to close the screen.
- Click the OK button in the other screen to close that as well.
- Repeat the above procedure, but instead of selecting Use the following IP address, make sure both Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.
- Try to connect again.
On Windows Vista:
- Right click on Network Connections
- Select Network and Sharing Center
- Select View Status on your wireless connection
- Choose Properties
- On the Networking tab of the screen that comes up, find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item in the listbox, select it, and click the Properties button.
