ISSUE
There was an issue with the version 1.50 release of WMWifiRouter regarding power management settings. As a result of this the backlight of your device may keep turning off after 30 seconds.
CAUSE
Some devices are erroneously detected as SmartPhone (non-touchscreen) devices instead of PocketPC (touchscreen) devices. Though these two platforms are very similar, power management works slightly different and the SmartPhone platform requires more agressive power management settings manipulation to keep WMWifiRouter operating.
Upon WMWifiRouter exit, settings are restored to how they were set before starting WMWifiRouter. If your device is a PocketPC but detected as being a SmartPhone, the reversal of these settings causes a value related to the backlight timeout being wrongly set, resulting the backlight timeout issue.
UPDATE
This issue has been fixed in version 1.51, and version 1.52 and newer will automatically fix this issue if present.
RESOLUTION
There are two ways to resolve this issue:
The easiest way to fix this issue is downloading and installing the latest version of WMWifiRouter and running it. This will automatically fix the issue.
The issue can be manually fixed by removing the following registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Power\Display
Please do not do this if you are using a SmartPhone (non-touchscreen) device !
